Thread: Nashville with Kids?

    Default Nashville with Kids?

I'm going to be making a trek down to Nashville at the end of the week with the family--my first long vacation in almost a decade. Should be fun.

My kids are under 10, so we are trying to track down some good music related things to do with them while we are down there.

    - We're going to see Molly Tuttle at the Opry on Thursday

    - Plan to do the Cash and Country Music museums

    - May try to get into Bluebird Circle

Any other great places that might be age appropriate for the kids to check out?

My biggest question is what is close to Carter's that I can send the wife and kids to for a couple hours so I can go play without the anxiety of them knocking over instruments

Any builders in the forum that I can visit on the way from Wisconsin to Nashville?

Adventure Science Center and The Frist are both just a few minutes away from Carter's:

You can also check out this calendar for other kid related things happening in and around Nashville on the dates you'll be here:

Should keep them busy for at least a couple of hours. Enjoy!

There’s a Mexican restaurant just a couple of blocks away that makes some outstanding house made salsa...fellas at Carter’s will be able to point you there if you need them to kill a little while around lunch time...

Heading to Carter, Cottens, and Gruhn today. Anywhere else I should stop by to check out Mandolins (and guitars) in town?

I am here in Nashville today and just got back from Carters and Gruhn's. I wonder if I passed you? I spent most of my time in the select room playing the higher priced mandos there. I see you were trying to get to the Blue Bird Cafe. I got to play there last night if you happened to go to the songwriters open mic. It was a bit of an ordeal getting a slot to play, but overall a neat experience. The others playing were from all over the world and (except me) lots of talent there.
No matter where I go, there I am...Unless I'm running a little late.
