You're right 14 strings. I thought at first that there were more that 12 tuners, but then looked at the tailpiece which, if my angry eyes are correct is meant for 12 strings.

The Philippine version of the bandurria has 14 strings. Is there such a thing as an "octave bandurria?"

There is a Johnny Pineapple (and his Waikiki Wildcats) still performing. Doubtful, but possible that Johnny on the cover of the Hawaiian Holiday LP is the same one still performing with the Wildcats. I sent an email and hope to hear from him soon.
