Posting here because I know this will be of interest to mandolin players. Fiddle tunes are mando tunes, too, after all.
In case you haven't seen, there's a brand new book available containing 176 original fiddle compositions by John Hartford, most of them never before published or recorded. These are rendered in John's own beautiful hand, along with line illustrations, photos, and a whole bunch of text drawn largely from interviews with folks like Texas Shorty, Mike Compton, Jim Wood, Sam Bush, Norman and Nancy Blake, and many others.
Here's a nice piece about the project, featuring an interview with Matt Combs, who is one of the people who put it together: Hartford story on WMOT
