    Hi Ivan. i'd rather not flip flop a second time, so i'll gladly buy the nickel ones if he's not interested. He did offer to keep them, but he's a good luthier who is pretty busy and i really appreciate his willingness to take on my projects. So i'll happily go with the flow.

    mandroid, i know the rims. Back in the 1970's i used to ride a gold set of Mavic rims with sew-up tires on a gold Mirella frame. Campagnolo was the king components maker at the time. Mavic did a good job on those rims...too bad they're located across the pond.
