    Default New to the forum

    Greetings.

I'm an acoustic guitar player, now the owner of a Depression-era Harmony mandolin, in decent shape. Three of our four children are either viola and/or violin players, so they already sort of know their ways around the instrument. All of us will be diving into learning this wonderful instrument.

First post. I know I'll learn a lot here, so I thank one and all, in advance.

You said it-- we all learn a lot from each other. I was a guitar player coming to the mandolin 5 years ago. You will love the Cafe. Welcome aboard!

No requests for upgrades yet! They violas and violins are worth m ore individually, than our second car! Any upgrades for them, will come there. Once I get comfortable w/the mandolin... I'll be the one looking to upgrade!

    Welcome to the mad house!

Hi! Welcome. I'm new too. I got interested because of a mandolin we just found while cleaning my grandpa's home. Trying to play it but with some difficulty

Welcome, Everton. And joella, too. Plenty of help, encouragement, and commiseration here, that’s for sure.

My daughter is a professional violist. First time she held my mandolin, she ripped off a flawless prelude to a Bach suite.
