Default Tiny bubbles in lacquer at the riser block and top juncture.

This seems to be an ongoing issue when spraying lacquer. Ive tried retarder, reducer, and no thinning at all. Tried to lower the pressure to 20psi, and even 40psi. Maybe its my cheap hvlp gun from Harbor Freight.

I get tiny air bubbles right at the crevice where the riser block meets the top.

My HVLP sprayed at 5 lbs. It is a different technique to spray. Mine is a 1" hose with a 2 stage turbine and only sprays at 5 lbs, the turbine slightly warms the air. Works nice, tho I haven't been finishing since I moved many years ago. Still have the system.

Bubbles usually mean a sprayed coat that is too heavy.

With apologies to Don Ho, let’s all sing together now!

    Tiny bubbles,
    In the lacquer
    Make me unhappy,
    Make me wanna sack ‘er.

So sorry. Going to my corner now.

It could be the lacquer you are using too. I recently foolishly tried a different for me lacquer, who's name will go mercifully unmentioned, and got a similar problem all over. I have returned once again to the McFadden/Segrave's guitar lacquer with which I can get flawless finish of about 0.005" almost all the time. Recommended.

I may need to try a different lacquer that fits my technique. Thanks, will give it a go.
