I have been messing around with a string tension app and want to try 010 015 024 036. I also would like to buy some 010s in bulk as I'm sure I'll break a few. Where do you buy your strings that don't come in sets?

From Mapes. You can build your own set and buy singles.

Buy your own guitar singles from your local music shop but, if you plan on using those gauges on your regal I would suggest they might be a bit heavy for an old guitar.
JustStrings is my default, usually I try to order a large assortment for my various instruments all at once especially when they have sales. I've done a good amount of individual string buying from them for tamburitza, balalaika, electric phin etc.

I looked this morning on the Mapes website and they have raised their prices by 300%. They were $5.00 a set now $15.00. I sent them an email and asked them to justify the increase, haven't heard back from them.
I just went in big on JustStrings bulk, having come to a firm decision about gauges for my electric (after trying various combinations). About 1/3 the cost of singles.

I see they changed the prices. This morning it said $15.00, maybe my email finally caught their attention. And yes I do like their strings a lot. In fact I have given a couple of sets for folks to try.
Elderly is a good place to buy singles.
I also emailed Mapes about the price change and they responded saying it was employ error. Prices back to normal
I've ordered mandolin strings from Mapes that I really enjoy. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to order tenor guitar strings or single strings. If anyone can steer me straight, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

FWIW It looks like those gauges come in this SIT strings set.

Dadsaster, I can see you have carefully calculated the string gauges to be around 20lb per string on a 21" scale for CGDA.
However I would advise caution as I have owned several Regals & they tend to be quite lightly built (and old of course).
I think they might of been designed to use tenor banjo strings which are normally lighter than modern tenor guitar strings.
I use 09 14 20 30 on mine.
I've been using those gauges on my little spruce top Regal with no problems. I buy singles at either of my local stores.
Strings and beyond, great service and often have post free offers to Europe.
Stringsbymail...I use D’Addario phosphor bronze, the sell singles in pretty much any diameter you could want.
Will mandolin strings fit on a short-scale tenor (21")? I feel like I'm usually clipping a foot off of mine and seems like getting twice the strings would be nice.
For anyone who is curious. I ended up ordering from mapes and got 0105 015 024 036. My regal clone handles it beautifully and going up to higher gauges really took a lot of floppiness out of the strings. The gitar also projects much better.
Harmony were great fans of useing birch for their guitars, but all the examples I have seen use flat sawn wood and they do not perform like quarter sawn spruce.
Some folk love their birch top guitars but I don’t think you can expect to compete with the volume or sustain of a quarter sawn spruce top.
I have a birch top Harmony 1215T and an earlier Harmony built spruce top Orpheum tenor archtop. The Orpheum is superior, but the 1215 has it's own appeal.
