    Elderly has a used MTO for 2100. I'd rather have that than a short trip and an Eastman.

    I agree somewhat on buying online at this price point. Now at $5000 it's worth a trip. But pretty much any used $1200 mandolin will be satisfying, and I did roll the dice on my SA and ended up happy.

    FWIW .... there's a '91 Bozeman Made Flatiron performer A in the classifieds for $1050.00 ... "OBO" ... I can only attest to a few 'F' model FI's I've played ... but of those I'd be proud to own any of them

    Well, I must say, I really appreciate the thread & help from everyone on this... I checked a few of the places mentioned, and wanting 'new' in my price range makes it tough... A friend of mine has a Kentucky 1050, so I will probably buy a new one. I've played it and love the sound.... was just trying to play & compare other mando's...Many thanks !!
