Default Peg Winder for Fat Knobbed Collings

I had one winder for mandolin, more like for waverly thinner knobs. I just bought a Collings MF and the knobs are too fat for my smaller (easier to turn between knobs) winder. The guitar winders are too big to turn easily. I have researched but it appears the Fords winder is no longer available and I can't find a Dudenbostel. Any one know one that will do the trick?

You could email Lyn and see if he has any. Very nice winders and he is great to deal with.

You could also make yourself a Jop winder:

I pull the string tight and wrap it around the peg shaft three or four times depending on wound or plain before putting the string thru the hole in the shaft. Never use a peg winder unless I am stringing a slotted headstock guitar. Very few turns and you are at pitch, so easy. Been doing it that way for so many decades I don't remember when I started. Course some days I am luck to remember my name too.

The winder George recommended works great, and won’t break the bank. Lp
