Now, is it an octave mandolin or a mandola? Or am I getting something wrong here?

Do post it in the classifieds section. The forum is not for meant for ads.

My first serious instrument was a Fylde Cittern. Roger makes wonderful instruments.

Also definitely post the scale length of the instrument. I know Octave Mandola meant different thing to different people.

Over this side of the pond an octave mandolin is sometimes called an octave Mandola.

True. I am referring to mine as an Octave Mandola all the time, since that is what Roger Bucknall calls it.

Fylde also insist on putting the 10th fret marker at the 9th fret, which is annoying, (probably because they are really a guitar building company) but not on this particular instrument, apparently.
