    Default Mandola/Viola and TablEdit

Forgive me for being so full of questions but I'm trying.

Have any of you set up TablEdit for mandola with the Alto Clef and CGDA (mandola/viola) tab?

I'm no TablEdit expert (even though I've owned it for years) but the only CGDA instrument I saw was the tenor banjo and when I tried it seemed to tab an octave to high.

Sorry for asking so much of the forum, but thanks anyway. Blessings, J.C. Bryant

Most tunes written in treble clef will want to be an octave lower for alto clef. I'm not familiar with the intricacies of TablEdit, but it should be easy enough to tell it to move it down an octave.

I use TablEdit for mandola. Like Louise said, drop the transcription by an octave, use the tenor banjo tuning for your tabs, and change the clef for your notation.

Yea!! thank you Louise and Pete, I did it. thank you very much. I saw the tenor banjo part and all I was confused on how to drop an octave. Thank you both so much.
