Well, there won't be any more of those. But it went for a pretty fair price ... I can think of maybe 2 or 3 living builders who could get $4K for an A.
Emando.com: More than you wanted to know about electric mandolins.

Lyon & Healy • Wood • Thormahlen • Andersen • Bacorn • Yanuziello • Fender • National • Gibson • Franke • Fuchs • Aceto • Three Hungry Pit Bulls
Huh? Actually, there are several living builders -- and certainly more than just 2 or 3! -- who routinely get substantially more than $4,000 for their A-model mandolins! Some names that come immediately to mind are Dudenbostel, Gilchrist, Nugget (Kemnitzer), Red Diamond (Macrostie), Ellis, Henderson, ... and I could go on.
Add Heiden to that list.
2010 Heiden A5, 2020 Pomeroy oval A, 2013 Kentucky KM1000 F5, 2012 Girouard A Mandola w ff holes, 2001 Old Wave A oval octave

Collings are now over $4k for an A (other than an MT). Kimble is at $5200. Ellis at $5,900. Smart is well over $5k, etc.
