Default Some very nice cases in the ads

including a gorgeous square Calton for a single F-5 and a Mark Leaf Double Mandolin Case. The latter must be one-of-a-kind, a real beauty in lovely shape. You don't see this one every day and if I had another F-5 in need of a case, I would be sorely tempted, dang the 17 lbs. net weight.

    Mark Leaf double case:
it weighs in at 17 Pounds
I guess it is merely the equivalent of carrying your two mandolins + one bowling ball. I do rcall those Mark leaf cases, esp for guitar were very protective but also super-heavy.

My ML banjo case + Stelling banjo, weighed in at 31 Lbs. It's now housed in a TKL case at half the weight (at least),

I bought a single FQMS case off eBay about two weeks ago. It was listed as unbranded with a buy it now of 64.88. Go figure. Last weekend there was a Bobelock fiddle/mandolin double case $130. People are Spring cleaning.

I have a serious case of case fetish, I really like that double Mark Leaf but I do have way too many but no double case.

Had it been a single at that price I probably would have grabbed it.

There was a Price rectangular fiberglass mandolin case on here Thursday, Cody Shuler of Pine Mountain Railroad was selling it, I bought it for $375 plus shipping! I’m surprised nobody snatched it up before I did!

if you buyers have time, post some pictures of all these types of cases(for us young upstarts), I don't have a clue what is being discussed. Might help if we run into one of these and know what we are looking at.
    thanks

The double case in the classifieds interests me as well. But I'm not going to bite.

What I really want is a pair of cases that can be snapped, buckled, or clipped together. That way I can carry both instruments with one hand or separate them for individual transport.

Can anyone design such a thing?

I bought my 'Mark Leaf' banjo case at the IBMA Festival in Owensboro in 1992. I'm pretty sure that ML had sold the company at that time,so was 'Barrington' the new owner ?. I also feel pretty sure that on the inside of the inner compartment lid, there was a metal label as per the attached pic.

Obviously,if the OP's case doesn't have one, then dating it is going to be pretty difficult,Click image for larger version.

I’ve had this same idea. It would be great if someone made them. I want one for fiddle and mandolin. I tried strapping 2 cases together, but it would be cool to have a pair that fit together perfectly.
