OK, that's enough...
...lurking. Time to jump into the forum. Long-time guitar player, dabbled in banjo many years ago, had a very short-lived venture with the fiddle. Had a cheap Epiphone mandolin a few years ago, not sure why I sold it. Anyway, got the urge a few months back to get back into mandolin. This forum is often mentioned on the AGF (acoustic guitar forum) so I started lurking over here. I then started shopping around for an inexpensive mando and thought maybe I'd just buy a Rogue since they seem to get pretty good reviews for the price. Well I stumbled across a used Loar in very good condition, w/ hsc, for way less than half-price new. I didn't hesitate. Now I'm hooked and having a blast! It's so much fun throwing down a guitar rhythm on the looper pedal or the 4-track and practicing fiddle tunes or adding a different flavor to rock & country songs. Wish I'd taken to it sooner!
