Question Fake Rubner Tuners? do real Rubners have any identifying marks?

Hi all, are there any words or markings on the front or back of Rubner mandolin tuners to identify them, that a fake might not have? Has anyone ever seen a set of fake Rubners?

These look awfully close to real Rubners to me, could they possibly not be?
    Thanks in advance, Jesse

Nobody, and I mean nobody would tool up to make fake Rubner tuners. Gotoh's don't have their name on them either. I don't think my Wavery mandolin tuners were marked.

I just checked my old style Schaller tuners. No marking. My Gibson Grover tuners, no markings.

I should add, the Rubner's I bought didn't have any markings and I bought them from Rubner.

Those are Rubner tuners! Why would you think that they are fake?

The Rubners that I purchased & installed this last week had no markings. Those look legit to me.

Those are Rubner tuners. Brushed nickel, worm under, with ebony buttons.
I don't think they are making that model any more.

Here is a picture of the similar brushed brass (worm over)

Well I just bought them for $32 shipped, brand new off of eBay, before I posted this. They were listed as unbranded, so I thought they were maybe fake. I was willing to take a chance on them though.

Thank you all for the assurance about these! I thought they looked really high quality to be fake, so I figured even if they were they’d be worth the $32 either way. Now comes the question, do I have these put on my new Tyler White and go with a nickel James Tailpiece, or do I go with gold Grover 309 with Ebony buttons??? Decisions decisions...lol. It will have tortoise binding, and I kinda think the gold would go better with that. I was wanting to get the brass Rubners Colorado Al posted, but I just realized they don’t make that model anymore.

They still make that model, you just have to ask Kent for it. Send him an email and tell him what you want. info@rubnertuners.com
And nice score, you got a $95 set of tuners for $32.

Yes! Put those on your new mandolin. They are far superior to the 309's, I just put a set of brushed brass on my Yellowstone, they are smooth.

If there were any identifying markings on the genuine tuners, you can bet that they would be forged as well. Very often we simply have to trust the retailers & hope that they haven't been conned !,

It looks like the person that sold those tuners buys estates and such. He had a few other odd musical instrument parts but now enough to think he was in that business. I would have bought them. It was a good score.

Thanks! I emailed him last night and he replied this morning and said their F style tuners were currently getting a gearing upgrade and wouldn’t be available for a few more months at least. I hadn’t thought to email and see if they had any not listed. I might just settle for these nickel ones if I can’t find brass ones in time tho.
