    Default pre 1921 Gibson bridge

    How can I tell an original pre 1921 ebony Gibson bridge from a repro? I've seen some with a patent date and some without. Just wondering.

    If you've seen enough of them, you can recognize them by the workmanship and the tool marks. To some degree only, though. Most that I have seen do have a patent stamp.

    I'll also say that I have seen reproduction bridges that fooled even the experts.
