Updated guitar bouzouki article
Back in 2014 I wrote a blog post about the guitar bouzouki and its brief history. Well, since then I've found out a couple more things so I've updated the piece:

Enjoy.

Re: Updated guitar bouzouki article
I hadn't heard of Andy adapting a Takamine. Sounds pretty good to me.
I once adapted a solid bodied electric guitar by taking off the top and bottom strings and tuning it (from bottom) ADae, which is how I tune my octave.
It worked fine, actually. The A and D strings are exactly as they should be, the guitar G is tuned up slightly to A and you put a E string where the B should be. Simple and it works fine.
Incidentally, I was interested in Chris Larkin's involvement in this. I had never heard of him until a guy I see very occasionally in Scotland turned up with one of his guitars. I have since followed him on Facebook. Quite an interesting fellow, although he hasn't been well recently.

I've enjoyed tuning my guitars DGDAED, works great for Irish. I even tuned one of my electrics that way. Really changes the way you do lead work.
