    Default Unison strings

    Hello,
    I’ve just purchased my first zouk to try it out - the Trinity College TM-375. I asked the vendor about converting to unison strings, and he said he would just use OM strings instead. Is this reasonable? I thought you would use a smaller gauge because of the longer scale length.

    D'Addario's J81 Irish Bouzouki strings are listed as .011 to .040 and in unison for all four courses, so they're basically just OM lights compared to OM mediums which are .012 to .044 or .046 from what I could find.

    Thanks! I was actually going to post an update - He realized he was mistaken and ended up putting the J81 strings on. Can’t wait to try it out! Anyone else playing with this setup (TM-375 with J81)?
