    Default Perfect for the mandolin

Just wondering what songs folks have said to themselves "that'd be perfect for mandolin". Or just a tune that particularly begs for a mando solo. As I post this, I think of Jim Richter, got to tip my hat to Jim . . . he's out there doin' it. How about ABB "Jessica" or RS "Wild Horses"? I say, I like it!

You sing songs with your voice, you play melodies , tunes with the mandolin..

as a singer, with a mandolin, it's just whats in your hands .. play chords

or do the BB King, sing, then play..

But that one is already available as a mandolin solo! It might even have been the very first tune I ever learned on the mandolin, in fact.

I have heard Chris Thile play excerpts from the original Star Trek theme on stage. So that base has been covered.

I personally never would have thought of it, but then I heard it. Sarah Jarosz does Prince's 'When Doves Cry' on mandolin and it's pretty great.
