    Hi Christoph,

Welcome to the Cafe'. I had to google Stagg to see what you had purchased. How is it to play? I've never encountered one but if you're like a lot of us here, it won't be your last one (sort of like a gateway drug but in a good way).
Enjoy yourself and give us a review.

    Best,

Based on buyer reviews, you have a decent quality plywood Chinese-made beginner mandolin. In the US they run $125-150, 90-100£ to you.

You won't find too many Stagg instruments in the US, but they're marketed in the UK and continental Europe. If you are looking to upgrade in the future, I'd recommend an instrument with a solid top, at least, and preferably all-solid-wood with a carved top.

I think that the two words 'proud owner' says it all. Congratulations!

Actually a music store near me has been selling Stagg instruments (I don't know how many mandolins) for years. I agree there aren't too many and they are an entry level line of instruments here.

Being a big fan of oval hole mandolins, I was recently looking for a cheap knock-around mandolin and was checking these out on the Wal-Mart website, where they go for about $125.00 . . . but additional information was scarce, so I passed.

Would like to hear what the OP has to say about his.
