A style mandolin strap marks

my repair guy is into the quick release thing. I see now this is not a big thing in the mandolin world as it is in the guitar world. new question is how long does it take for the strap to leave marks or wear out the finish on the neck.

Depends on often you play it and how long you play it at each session ! Wrapping the strap or chord that makes contact with the finish with microfiber material will help as my finish is still pristine after several years of playing.
