Hi all, anyone have experience with this preamp? Thinking about pairing it with my Shure SM94. Thanks!

Wouldn't be my first choice. You might get away with some jiggery-pokery lead - the SM94 is balanced and phantom powerable whilst the AD-2 uses jack sockets - and I'm not so sure about impedance matching.
How about a Zoom A3?

The Zoom and other preamps are intended for pickups and mic-type pickups such as the Schertler or possibly a DPA mandolin mounted mic. The SM94 is a simply a mic and intended to go into a mixing board or other sort of sound system. What are you intending to plug the pre-amp into and why?

The SM94 is a very accurate and flat microphone. No 'harsh' bump in the high frequencies like some. I've used these myself regularly. They are very good condenser mic which is often overlooked, but performs extremely well. They are superb on mandolin and acoustic guitar, fiddle, banjo, etc.
Just plug it into the mixer and EQ it on there if you need to adjust anything. You don't need to do anything else...the EQ on a desk can easily handle what you need.

Just to add to what Almeria says (to answer your question about the Baggs PADI) you'll have the same input problems with that. In terms of input, its exactly the same as the Boss. You should do as Almeria says and plug straight into the board. If you want/need control on stage, you'd be better off with a small mixer (get one with phantom power) and you can plug that into the board.
Cool! Thanks a lot, everyone. More questions may come...
