Very simply - this mandolin recently caught my eye, but I can find almost nothing about it on the internet, (i.e., reviews, videos, sound clips, etc.).
Any information would be helpful.

It will be interesting to hear comments. They've caught my eye too. Must be a newer addition? My 2014 (I think) catalog say the Vintage is the only oval hole x braced standard model. I got to play one of those & just loved it. A Gallatin might be more in my price range someday though. I would expect one would be quite nice.
The Weber Gallatin F style, oval hole mandolin has been around for awhile. Mine is from 2012 and was built when the Weber company was in Logan Montana. Gallatin oval holes are still listed on the current Weber website. I had (have) a Breedlove Cascade that I bought in 1998 that primarily sat in it's case while I mostly played around on electric and acoustic guitars. In 2015 I purchased my Gallatin and since then my other instruments sit in their cases while I play the Weber almost everyday. It has a great tone which I would describe as sweet and slightly rubbery although it should be noted that I'm using Gibson Sam Bush monel strings and I mostly play old-time fiddle tunes. In my opinion it is a great, reliable mandolin at a reasonable price.
I had a great oval hole Gallatin F for several years that I still regret selling. Very sweet sounding and a real workhorse - I put so much mileage on that thing because I just couldn't put it down.

There is a YouTube video of a Gallatin FO that I found where the poster used the terms “Weber Gallatin F with D soundhole.” It is a pretty good representation of the sound.

These do not come up often.
I am not a big fan of the Gallitin look.

I have a Gallatin F (f holes of course). I like it's plain & simple look. Suits my playing (at best!). Mine is the dark color which I think looks better but not a big deal. It's the sound & playability, right? What is it you don't like about it's "look"? I'd love to try one of the oval holes. I just can't get the sound of the Vintage model out of my head but I think it's beyond my resources & commitment level. I wonder how close a Gallatin would come to the Vintage? Maybe I'm an oval hole guy & just don't know it Thanks for the video link!
As you can tell from my signature below, I am definitely an 'oval hole' guy, and although my experience has been very limited, I don't think that I have ever heard a Gallatin ('F'-hole or 'O' hole) that I didn't like. Yes, I must admit to being greatly attracted to the aesthetics of different instruments (I am most especially taken with binding around the body, neck and headstock) but in the end (as THart said above) it's all about the sound and playability . . . so I am more than wiling to over-look the 'plainness' of a Gallatin for the tone and action of a high-quality instrument.
Obviously, I am not going to hastily jump into the purchase of a mandolin that is going to cost me 2 months salary, and with only a very limited ability to try out Weber's in my area, I am going to have to be very meticulous in my research - so, thank you to all of you who can help . . . it is much appreciated.
