    Default Some Old Day

Here's a beauty with Tony, Jimmy Gaudreau and Vassar.

I really like Jimmy G's mandolin tone on this one . . . to me it sounds like a cross between and oval hole, and f-holes. Beautiful.

Terrific vid from back in the day, thanks!

The modulation into Jimmy singing the 2nd verse is crazy good. And I think he was on an F-5 built by the Massachusetts luthier Jack O'Brien at that time.

Love Vassar's backup on the vocals. A master class in how to do that.

Yeah man, I didn't notice Vassar's playing through the vocals first listen, he plays right through it all and doesn't distract from the vocals - his solo cuts like a razor. Great master of the song there, love it. Those guys had it all together.
