My A style has a strap pin that will pop out now and again. Do you recommend a spot or two of Elmer's to secure it? Can't just twist it in place as I would on my guitars. Thanks for the advice!

You could use some clear nail varnish as a weak glue. A little smear will hold the pin securely, but if you give the end pin a sharp twist,it'll break the bond & the pin will come out. That's what's holding the end pin in on one of my mandolins - it's been like that for

Hmm? Starting to appreciate Bruce Weber and my modest Gallatin mandolin a little bit more.
Nothing modest about those Gallatins. Well built, play beautifully and sound great. As far as strap pins, I have had them slip out of Martin and Guild guitars, so it doesn't correlate with the quality of the instrument. The strap pin system the Weber mandolins have does seem to be very well designed.

Wrap a piece of plumbers PTFE thread seal tape around the end pin. Push into place.

Low humidity can cause the problem this time of year. First step for me would be to ensure adequate humidity levels. The end-pin tends to shrink and get loose during the heating season. I know, problem already solved but this is for future readers.

If opting for glue, let it cure , outside of the hole.. you are building up the outside of the taper,
which is I presume, too small for the hole..
you can buy oversize end buttons,, even from violin shops .. they can be shaped to fit, by those folks ..
its a tool not unlike a pencil sharpener
