Anybody know of a mandolin teacher, particularly new grass, around Bristol area? Also looking for an old time jam in the area. I’m an intermediate player who only knows oldtime! Want to branch out. Thanks! Cmac

You’re not far from Johnson City, check out E Tn St Univ - they have a bluegrass degree - yes, I know you said newgrass. Check out the music stores and see if any of the bars, pubs, coffee shops, groceries have jams or music gatherings. If you still come up short then contact your favorite player, I’m sure they give Skype lessons. Good luck!

Google "Crooked Road". Should be able to find all you need.

    Hello,
Not sure if you’ve found a teacher to work with yet? I’ve been working over Skype with David Benedict (plays in Mile Twelve). He’s been fantastic to work with and is versatile with many genres. NFI here, just very pleased to have found a great teacher who inspires me to practice and play well. Good luck!
