Default IOS App for manipulating sound files

    Everyone,

I have a short bit of WAV file that I would like to post with a question in the tunes forum, but WAV won't post. I need MP3. I googled how to convert it, and got a long (and to me, unfollowable) discussion about it in iTunes.

iTunes is mostly an app that solves Amazon's problems. It isn't meant to solve any of my problems and I never use it. Couldn't use it for this purpose.

Can anybody recommend a more focused app for this?

    Thanks,
    Rod

I use Houkasi2 pro app on my iPad
Very simple editing programme that you just open the file in.
Then snip as required, then share with settings set for mp3 or WAV or whatever you need.
It’s not very feature rich but that makes it very quick to use.

In iTunes, you add the WAV to your library, then click "convert to mp3." Doesn't get much easier.

I thought this might be someone's wife posting at first:
