My music school ensemble would like to learn the tune Spain (Corea). The ensemble includes mandolin, guitar and bass. We've been having trouble finding it in a book (e.g., the Real Book) and wondered whether anyone can recommend a version for us to start with. We will rearrange it, so it can simply be melody and chords.

Here are some PDFs. First time I ever heard the tune was in in the early 70's some late night jazz club in Atlanta, played by some quartet from Holland. Took a couple years before I found out what the tune (played on an FM station and identified by the DJ) was and went right out and bought the "Light As A Feather " album. (Gotta work it up on flute. BTW, do the jazz/newgrassers do this in a different key, or do they keep it in 2#s/Bm ? Goes a bit too low on concert C flute, so I bump it up to Dm or Em for the instrument; don't care for the sound of Bm tansposed up an octave. Of course, if I had an alto - low note is G - it would be moot)

Last year I was playing Mandolin with a Jazz Guitar Ensemble at our local community college. Spain was one of the tunes we did. It was 5 Guitars, stand up Bass, & me on Mandolin. Quite the tricky tune, but it was fun. It sounded great with our instrumentation.

Here’s another link if needed, it’s ‘Spain’ for tenor sax but if you download the free program it can be converted to mandotab, also on this site they have some cool band arrangements which could work well converted to mando duets etc.
