    Default I'm very lucky

Just purchased a sobell mandola, ....you would not believe this instrument......It is so responsive, so warm and jangley....sounds almost like a dulcimer. This is an instrument that you can play tune after tune,,,,jigs reels, hornpipes with ease....the lightest touch produces a full open sound... NO Finger Fatigue!!!..I now understand the phrase "A joy to play!" Makes me feel for all the good players out there who own OM's or Mandolas that might look great but fall short on playability. This mandola is ALIVE !! and I'm a happy camper.

NIce one and congratulations. is it new or used?? Always fancied a Sobell Bouzouki myself. How's the volume?? Have you had it out to a session yet?
Have 2 Forsters, one regular zouk and a gazouki. I'd say they're pretty similar in sound to Stefan's as Nigel worked with him for many years. Having said that, I've never played a Sobell myself. Not too many of them here in Ireland.

Best of luck with the mandola and I hope ya have many years of enjoyment with it .

I've had one (Sobell OM) for a few years now, almost took the arm off the guy who had it advertised for sale, I got there so quickly.
The tone is amazing, you can concentrate on just playing without having to try to make it sound good, too. It lives in the case when not in use; it's too good to leave sitting around and risk damage.
"Danger! Do Not Touch!" must be one of the scariest things to read in Braille....

yes, this mandola was built 1n 1996....I owned at least 6 of his citterns and OM's.....this sounds so different from anything I've ever owned by him . I will be heading to session this week and I'll take a back seat to avoid the fiddle bows and guitar headstocks as this is in like new condition. Again I'll repeat, No finger fatigue !!! Jig and Reels NONSTOP !!!! take care
