Bill Monroe's toaster? No thanks. But I might pay bigly for those jodhpurs. Or that infamous fire poker.

Dental floss, but it would have to be waxed and mint flavored.

If i had a boat load of cash - Bill Monroe's mandolin, now residing in a glass case just for folks to stare at. I'd make 'em an offer that they couldn't refuse !. I'd have Steve Gilchrist put it back into good playing condition & loan it to a few 'select players' to record with.
IMHO - having that mandolin as a museum exhibit is a disgrace. It should be revered for the instrument that it is,as are many top flight Violins/ Violas etc.,& played again. For me,that's the only one of Bill Monroe's posessions that's of any importance at all - just my point of view !,

I like Bill and his music, but I don't think I would pay money for anything he owned just because he owned it. Except for that F5, of course.
Keep that skillet good and greasy all the time!
I'd be glad to get one of his "lesser" mandolins, and I think one or more has actually been offered for auction (?). He had several that were given to him on special occasions or by a company looking for endorsement. Probably played them hardly at all, perhaps threw them into a closet. Still, it'd be great to have an instrument that once belonged to him.

His pick collection (I would pay 15% more than he paid for them) then resell them at Boutique Pick Prices with Provenance letters.

I'd like to buy an old half-used box of his cough drops. The one where he stashed the broken headstock scroll.

I'd take the long lost F-7! A historical significant mandolin!
I would love to see Bills mandolin, Earls banjo & Lester's guitar all go on tour one last time.
