Default Info on Kentucky mandolin model

Someone around me is selling what they say is a km-140 but the mandolin has a fretboard extension. I can’t find any other Kentucky mandolin other than the km900 A that has fretboard extension and is a model, they said they bought it for their son 8-10 years ago... I am at a loss

NO KM-140 within the last 10 years, had a fingerboard extension. It must be older than that. But wait, it gets much more confusing..... Older KM-140 mandolins were all laminated. There was a KM-140S model that had the solid top. Later KM-140 mandolins (no S) do have a solid top.

Any KM-140 before 2012 is entirely different than the current version. These mandolins typically have minor changes every 1-2 years, and major changes ever 5+.

I have tried to send pics and it isn’t showing them, so are the the older ones worth anything?

I think, in general, you cannot go wrong with a Kentucky.

If it's 10+ years old, that looks like a km-350S or km-380S to me.
Ask for a picture of the label.
They do have a strong resemblance to the current KM-900.
The KM-140S did not have a fretboard extension.
Here a pic of the km-380s

Your pic matches the fretboard, Headstock, truss rod cover

How much are they asking for it?
