Tiny Tim used to always carry his ukulele in a shopping bag . . . maybe this is just a new trend for mandolin players . . . .

I was playing last Sunday with some friends at our Celtic kitchen party and a passing young woman bumped his $5000 Lakewood guitar. Just gently bumped it and over it went to the hard floor. I caught it just in time. After that, he asked me to hold it for him if he had to get up. I suspect he's done with stands. Myself: I only use stands at home in my practice room.

I'm no Tiny Tim but this was my preferred method for getting to sessions - far more convenient than hauling a bunch of cases. One bag holds mndln, fdl, bnj, concertina...(box just goes over the shoulder)

I know the feeling. Usually after getting smoked in a jam by some 14 year old.
