    Default Mandolin, guitar duo's

Love the combination! David Grisman with Tommy Emmanuel was a great show & they put out a wonderful recording. Thile, Lage combined for a mind bending performance on PHC (ok, there seems to be some disagreement on this ;D ) I don't think they've recorded together? I've seen Richard Kriehn wit Pat Donohue locally a couple of times. Going to see them again in a couple of weeks. I think I'll ask them if they might be working up enough of a repertoire to think about heading to the studio. I remember Peter Ostroushko used to perform with Dean Magraw & it looks like they put out at least one recording. Apparently Peter also has a recording out with Norman Blake. Any other good ones to add to the list?

David Grisman did a wonderful performance with Tony Rice, I think it is on utube somewhere.

I really like this guitar/mandolin pairing. Thile and Sutton.

Love this combination too, some good suggestions here. Cahalen Morrison & Eli West is my favorite, many great albums.

Some other favorites below. Not always just mando and guitar on these musicians albums (except Thile and Daves) since one of them also play fiddle, clawhammer banjo or mandola.

There is also Del and Dawg or Dawg and Martin Taylor or Garcia and Grisman. Skaggs and Rice is nice. And it is hard to beat the classics like Charlie and ira Louvin not to mention those Monroe Brothers.

Peter Ostroushko and Dean Magraw recording is called "Duo" and is fantastic.
    Garcia/Grisman

Also, Peter and Dean still occasionally play locally around Mpls/St Paul a few times a year but they are rarely advertised. Keep an eye on the venue in Zumbrota as well as Oak Center General Store. They are scheduled there on April 14. They are magic when they play.

Honey Dewdrops are a favorite. I wish they'd do lots more songs with Kagey on mandolin.
