I wouldn't want it, I would have to put it out on the porch with our old toaster. Eating anything toasted in there would make me sicker than Mike's wax ring.

I’d remove the power supply and heating elements to make it a true acoustic toaster.

I wonder if there's enough bread crumbs in there for some fried chicken?

All kidding aside, while I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for the late Mr. Monroe and feel honored to have seen him perform live on several occasions, I don't see the value in owning any of his personal effects unless they are music related. A hand written copy of the words to Molly and Tenbrooks now that would be a big part of somethin'. Anyway, to each his own, it could be a a good conversation piece for the man who has everything.

The darkness setting on the toaster is all the way to the right. Like his music, Bill preferred toast well done. I wonder if Bill ever scraped the toast?

Ivan, that is a verbal gem beyond price!
I’m having a hard time finding any deep passionate need for a toaster that belonged to the late great Mr. Monroe. I agree with the tasteful, esteemed Mr. Apitius, the hand written words to any song would be some part of something!

I bet it is a fake, made in an Asian country...Does it come with a letter to prove he really owned it?

The issue I have (besides it being an outdated toaster), is there is nothing in the letter that ties it to that specific toaster. I would think a person would have a hard time selling it.

...and I wonder to myself, 'what WOULD I pay for Bill Monroe's toaster?' I'm sure I'd be ok with $30 just for the surreality of it all.

The original brand name was a Bill Toaster. But Mr. Monroe called it a Brad Toaster. There’s only one Bill in the band.

I will defer to the luthiers here but looks like a nicely patina'd Varnish on the control panel...
and thats some nice figure in that woodgrain....looks corinthian...probably bumps the value up a bit....Depending on the year of course...
But i'd want to make some toast with it before i'd go over $30..
cant quite make it out but ..Looks like there a signature on that label..??

Upon further reflexion... I would definitely pay $50, just to be able to casually mention, 'you know that used to be Bill Monroe's toaster...' But I think there is something wrong with me...

Does it come with instructions on how to tune it ? - Tain't an 'acoustic' one anyway, it's 'lectric !!.

From Brad Klein - "But I think there is something wrong with me... ". Nice one Brad !!. I'd love to see the face of ''whoever'' you mentioned that to. It could range from an astonished 'Really !!" - to a puzzled - "Who was Bill Monroe ?",

Gettin’ a slice or two of the BM action for $50, I’d raise a toast to that.

Good one Bob, I wonder what note it makes when the toast pops up, and can it be tuned to any note you want...Please whoever buys it don`t take it to Guitar Center to have it set up...
