Default How do I do online lessons and have an instructor at the same tim

I'm planning on going through with Mike Marshall's artistworks lessons, but I'm also having a personal instructor. How do I follow Marshall's lessons and maintain the need for an instructor? Thanks guys.

I signed into both Mike Marshall and Sharon Gilcrest on peghead nation. I like both for different reasons.

You should ask your instructor. If he is good he will make the two things work together.

Different teachers have different ways of explaining the same things. Some will also emphasize different things. If it were me, though, I'd make sure they were working on different things. Mike is a superb technician, as good as any alive. I'd let him go work on technique, and the in-person instructor work on things like sight reading, musicality, etc. That sort of thing works better in person, and the technique is easier to work on in an online situation.

I don't mean to be partial, but I would suggest Don Julin. Don is an incredible guy, and an absolute encyclopedia of knowledge. On top of this, Don is reasonably priced and flexible. He is amazing.
