    Default Best Wishes, Bill Monroe

Just found this. I had not thought of it for years. Got to meet Mr. Bill at a festival in 1979. The autograph alone was pretty cool, but when I flipped the paper over I noticed that it was part of an envelope that originally contained one of the pay checks from the construction job I had the summer between my junior and senior years of high school. I made enough that summer to buy my first good mandolin, the Gibson F-2.

    Cool memory piece!
(oddly when I click on this it's upside down but when I doubleclick it it's right side up)

Here's mine from back in Sat. June 4th 1966. I got it during the interval after Bill & the Boys had played their first spot at the Manchester Sports Guild folk club,

Mr. Monroe signed the inside of my 25 A4 Case when I was 12 or 13. He didn’t wish me best wishes though.

It is pretty cool. The tag was with the A-4 when by Dad bought it for $100 in 1977, I don’t think this is the original case though.

I got mine in about 1980. Good grief that's almost 40 years ago...
