Happy New Year! (Tunesmith's Greetings)
Dear mandolin friends,
I wish you and yours a Happy New Year!
While I never care to make grandiose resolutions, I at least keep the modest ones I make. 2018 will be a "galley-year" for me, as Verdi used to say of his hectic heyday; much to do, and precious little time to do it. With an opera revival coming up in the fall, I can't promise how much new music I'll be able to turn out. The stage is a voracious beast...
What I can in fact promise is that I will be happy to circulate and share with you all that little piece for unaccompanied mandolin that I wrote a while ago for use at a youth competition in Italy— after that competition is over, of course. Stay tuned for that tune; the score is still under wraps, confidential so to speak among participants only.
Be well, be good, take care of yourselves and of each other. Amen.
Victor
