vintage Mandola
Got a nice pressie from Santa. Vintage brand. Same as the Ashbury/Trinity College ones. I always was dissapointed with low budget instruments...but this thing is great! It rings for hours. Its well played in and was used on several studio sessions before me so that may be the reason. All in all, I dunno why people knock the brand!

Congratulations, and play it in good health!
My TC mandola is about 20 years old—I'm at least the third owner—and it has a great sound. As you said, rings for hours!

Re: vintage Mandola
I have the Ashbury Octave version of that and it's sounded great from the start, having said that I played the equivalent mandolin and was less impressed. But that could have been because I'd just played some higher end ones....
