Default Italian Waltz: "Giorni Felici" (Luigi Canoro, 1921)

    Luigi Canoro: "Giorni Felici"
Published by Di Bella, New York, 1921

This is an Italian waltz, written by Luigi Canoro (or "Canora", as his name was given on some of his titles), a prolific dance music composer writing for the Italian-American community in New York. As is typical for these dance tunes, the original music was published as trio with two mandolin parts plus guitar accompaniment. I have played the original three parts, and have added a mandocello part extracted from the guitar bass line.

    1890s Umberto Ceccherini mandolin
    Mid-Missouri M-0W mandolin
    Vintage Viaten tenor guitar
    Suzuki MC-815 mandocello

The sheet music is from Sheri's Di Bella archive -- I've attached it here for easy reference.

    All artwork by Antonio Donghi.

Beautiful tune, Martin, both the music and the playing of it.

I am looking to find out if Luigi Canoro wrote or composed another Mazurka called Melancholy. Will appreciate any information
