    Default East Virginia Blues Tabs

I would like to learn how to play the song East Virginia Blues. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Tabs for East Virginia Blues? Thanks!

There is a simple version of East Virginia Blues in Parking Lot Pickers Songbook In key of E

Scroll down the book index to East Virginia Blues and click

It's a easy tune to learn by ear since there's just 8 measures. Mix melody notes and double stops
We play it out of F, slow enough for me to crosspick the chords some. Great vocal tune

I want to thank everyone for helping me out in finding the tabs to East Virginia Blues. I really appreciate it very much. I like playing the old traditional music on my Weber Distressed Diamondback F.

    Thanks again,
    Darwin

I'm glad you asked the question because I have been thinking about learning that one recently as well and I didn't even realize I already had it in the above-mentioned Parking Lot Pickers Songbook...

No tabs but this guy plays it nice and slow in D starting about 20 sec in.

This is one of my favourite songs to play around with, and it gets played at a lot of jams. Try it in E, there are some really nice sounding chords or drone notes there. Then move it up to F, which is good practice playing in that key.

There is an earlier thread on this song that gives some ideas where you can go with this song once you learn it. I put up a break there by Nate Bray which is one of my favourite mandolin breaks. Not for beginners!!, but there are some neat sounds that you can imitate with simpler methods.
