Default Early Mandolin Club Post Card (Gibson)

I recently got this original Glee and Mandolin Club post card on EBay. It’s post marked 1907 and has a picture of some pretty cool instruments. Too bad the photo quality isn’t that good to really make out a lot of details. At the time this was mailed the Gibson Co. was a 5 year old business and possibly even newer at the time the photo was taken. It’s pretty amazing to have something that 110 years ago someone had hand written, mailed, then received by another. Never would they have imagined that we would all be peaking at it now.

I love how precise the address is. Those were the days.

Looks like a couple regular guitars, an early Gibson harp guitar, maybe some early Gibson A mandolins, a five string banjo...The mandolin in the very front on the ground looks like it might be a Gelas style?

The thing I really liked about this post card is that it is very early and posted marked with a confirmed date.
