Thread: Specialty Cases

    Default Specialty Cases

Looking at a custom case for what can best be described as a very short scale, octave mandolin... teardrop/zouk type body.

Its really a long scale mandola... about 14.5" across, 3" deep, 20" scale. etc... those are not specifics.

Reached out to Calton, Hoffee. and Karura.
    Calton says maybe.
    Hoffee said no.

Wondering if I am missing anyone. And I am looking for a serious case, like the brands above generally make.

    thx

Kingham in the UK. They make all sorts of oddball cases for early instruments like serpents, lutes and the like.

It might squash into a tenor banjo case, my OM does. It's only 13" across -but it's a loose fit in the case.

In the UK You can get these Ashbury mandola cases relatively cheaply from Hobgoblin music or most music shops via Gremlin distributors. I use a large one for my mandoloncello & it’s a good case for car travel.

I think that’s who Max Girouard uses to make cases for his octaves...good call.
