    Default Wish me luck!

    Hello all,

I've played in jams. I've played at church (mostly bass though). Ive done lots of bedroom pickin'

A few months ago I was asked to play mandolin for a Christmas concert. Of course I said yes.

Today is our performance and I'm thrilled... and also a bit nervous.

    I've practiced. I'm ready!

    Wish me luck 🤓

Take a deep breath, then relax and enjoy it. If you're as well practiced as you say, you'll do fine and will treasure the memory of your first concert forever.Post some audio and/or video here afterwards if you can.

Don't sweat it, Zach. It's Christmas and everyone will be in a good mood. Plus, most likely you play mandolin better than anyone there, so who will be judging your playing? Keep in mind that some of them won't even know what a mandolin is. You've got this. Relax and have fun!

Smile inside, focus , smile outside when on stage, enjoy the moment,

    be calm inside but energized
Dont let the standing on stage be anything other than your opportunity to give a gift, your gift, to the audience.

    You will be great

Thank you all so much for your warm wishes and advice.

The concert went off very well and all our practicing paid off. I am super pumped with how things went. And yes, I can't wait to do it again.

We played a number of Christmas carols and other spiritual songs. The sound of the band was modern and it was fun to add simple mandolin parts to created a unique sound.

I am hoping to post a video later. But for now here is a picture of me... maybe it will paint a 1000 words.

    Once again, thanks to all!
