Default Red Apple Rag Mandolin Lesson

I've been really into this tune lately and you don't hear as many people playing it so I though I'd try to spread it around :-)

Cool tune, Wes. I also pick this number and am surprised it's not more popular in the jam sessions I hit. I have 2 versions in the stack; one by Wayne Benson and one by another Carr, this one named Joe (R.I.P.)

    Thanks for sharing.

edit: more versions found in the stack:

    Skaggs on That's It!
Dorsey Harvey - his LP on the Poca label
    Scott Nygaard on No Hurry
Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver - 1979 - At The Birchmere
Cal Tjader on Cal Tjader's Greatest Hits

Great tune and great playing on that video! I always love Arthur Smith tunes and this is one I need to revisit.

A part is a finger buster for me, ala blackberry blossom. Good one to know and fun to pick. I learned over the summer but our group hasn't shined to it yet.

I really love the Scott Nygaard version. That's actually the one that originally made me learn the tune.
