Thread: Left handed player with bridge and nut issues...

Default Left handed player with bridge and nut issues...

I'm thinking of trying out a tenor guitar. The Kala Tenor looks like a solid instrument given it's price point. I'd like to re-cut the nut and replace the bridge with a lefty-bridge.

Can anyone give me some ideas on how to track down an appropriately sized nut and bridge blank? I'm assuming that a left-handed tenor guitar bridge isn't a possibility. Are there going to be other issues doing this conversion?

    Thanks!

Looks like a proprietary bridge shape. Try contacting Kala and see if they offer a lefty model, or if you can get an unslotted bridge from them. Or you could fill the existing slot and re-route the bridge.

I usually fill in the saddle slot and re-rout the bridge for a left hand saddle. That way I am not removing a good bridge unnecessarily.
