Super-wide and bulky for two mandolins.

    24” tall x 29” wide x 4-1/2” deep

I rejiggered a double violin case to hold an F-2 and a Vega Little Wonder mandolin banjo, back in my brief klezmer-band flirtation. Wasn't actually much easier to handle than carrying the two cases, though it seemed a good idea at the time.

This case came with a separation for violin and mandolin. It wasn't shaped all that well for either. The overall dimension of the case worked for 2 mandolins, I used rigid foam and material that was close enough in color to make mine. I like having a back-up at a gig but truthfully I never seem to need the second when I take both. Doesn't seem to heavy for me.

I toyed with a double case itch for several years, then I started thinking about the weight and just decided I didn’t want to start walking like a banjo player and went on about my ease of small case small space way!
To make one light enough to be carry able I’m not sure just how much protection you’d end up with. Maybe someday....

I just weighed my case with both instruments plus accessories (straps, strings, clip on mic/hardware), it weighs 16 1/2 pounds. I also have armrests attached to each mandolin.

If a thief steals it, then they have both of your mandolins! I say use two separate cases and make them "work" for it.....

I had one fiddle/mandolin case I bought years ago but rarely used it. It probably weighed more than a dreadnaught guitar case. Generally I take separate cases, tho i do have a relatively light double fiddle case that works quite nicely. When I play fiddle I have one tuned to standard tuning and the other to cross-A. If we are not playing with an old time banjo player, then we can swtich around to various keys and still maintain that cross-A sound when needed.

That looks like the Harptone one I have. Very sturdy but not super-light.

I bought a double mandolin case from First Quality about 16 years ago and carried two mandolins to most gigs that I played but then I figured it was easier to carry two separate cases, in all of that time I never had to fall back on the mandolin that was in reserve...I have put the double case up for sale at local places but no one seems to be interested in them so it is my loss...

I would list your case with photo in the Cafe classifieds. I believe you would increase your chances of selling it..

When I play my trumpet gigs, I use a quadruple trumpet case and another case for my flugelhorn. Too much is better than not enough!
