I've never seen them mentioned on here but here's a link :- http://www.crossrockcase.com/index.p...t=list&tid=135

They seem to be available in a few different colours - something new for moulded ABS cases,

No, no seen one of the FG mando cases yet. I have seen a couple of their Uke cases, though, and was not too impressed. Quite flimsy and just generally not very well made.

I wouldn't know about their mandolin cases, but I bought one of their ukulele cases to fit my pocket mandolin. I sent it back. I was not happy with the quality and was not willing to risk my pocket mando in it.

This is exactly the opposite of my experience. I have two Crossrock cases for concert and tenor Ukeís. I am impressed with the quality and value of each. When I fly with a ukuleles, I use a Crossrock. Crossrock is not Carlton. I know because I have a Calton for a vintage Martin guitar. At the same time, I feel the Crossrock cases I have are well worth the price - $600 less than the Calton.

The two I encountered were badly made junk. Case lids did not fit correctly. Hinges cheap and nasty. Lining loose and badly fitted. Glue squeezes everywhere. Finger pressure alone was enough to distort the shells...

Maybe they have improved the QC or designs since then....

I've never seen one but i see a lot of them available (banjo and mando cases) on Amazon warehouse deals so they're regularly returned for 30 day refunds.

It's worth checking there if you're looking for a case. Also musician's friend periodically has blowout deals on cases, you can get on their email list and get heavily spammed but once in a while there's s.t. good

Good luck with the Superior cases. Elderly is still in a holding pattern. I had an A and an F case ordered so long ago that I gave up. They are the cases I want but I may just stay with what Iíve got. Sure would have been cool to have a brace of white Superiors.

The shell thicknesses on the 'Superior' cases are really very good. They are a strong case. Thicker than the Eastman FG cases by quite a margin. I do have a 'few' cases so I've been able to compare directly...sole complaint is that there is not a whole lot of space around the headstock and that storage is very limited, but for a fairly well-built, compact case at a fair price, they are hard to beat.

Glad I found this thread! I'm looking for an A-model hard case with backpack straps or D-rings for them. Just found this Crossrock model (ABS not FG though):

I might take a chance and can always return it...will report back with news if I do : )

    Out of Hong Kong..

seeme they have vacuum molded - ABS is a thermoplastic so hot sheet is soft, then cools while sucked over mold.

And Fiberglass ; catalyzed resin & cloth *, and layup hand labor ..

    * unless glass fibers are sprayed out of a 'chopper gun'..
