For me, the bling/inlay, tailpiece and truss rod cover spoil what might otherwise be a good sounding mandolin. I'd rather druel over the spare $2500 in the bank!

I would hazard a guess, that from the Reputation of the Mandolin store, the setup is excellent and the structural integrity of the mandolin has been checked out.

I agree. I'm not a fan of the painting and carving on the backs. I'm sure it sounds great, though.

Each to his/her own. I believe that David Harvey is well respected. This is stated to be one of his creations - http://www.rfcharle.com/HTML/PhotosI...s/F5GC.11.html - Personally, I wouldn't buy it.

Ouch! I can't think of anything I have ever seen that was that color. First time for everything I guess?

Loved Stan and Ollie. My favorite routine was when Stanley got Oliver to play "Kneesy, Earsy, Nosey".
