60s mandolin from italy

Hi all,

I acquired this mandolin from a friend's father shortly before he died - he said he bought it in Venice in the 60s. It has no label or any marks at all really, but I thought I'd put it out there to see if anyone knows anything about it!

It's in dire need of a bit of love, I'm looking at having that done pretty soon. It's my first mandolin so I'd love to be able to play it. It seems in pretty sound condition.

It is a typical post-war student grade mandolin, probably by Carmelo Catania, who had a mandolin factory in the city of Catania (yes, same as his name) in Sicily.
