Default Jekyll Island Bluegrass Jan. 4th-6th 2018?

Has anyone attended the Jekyll Island Bluegrass Festival that takes place right after the Holidays? I see that it is indoors. Looks like it is a fairly traditional lineup. I know it's a beautiful area. Just that I'm coming off a lengthy and exhausting, 10 weeks of 6 different hospital stays and already have cabin fever. Plus I'll be tied up with followups until mid November. With the Holidays coming soon after I suspect this festival will be the first real trip I will be able to take since early June and in retirement I haven't had that much time with out an adventure.
So if anyone has attended and would give their opinion, of the venue, I'd appreciate it.
In reality I'll likely go, just for the sake of my sanity.
    Thanks.

I haven’t been able to go for various reason for several years but I used to go every year. At that time they had some of the best jamming of any festival I attended. It went on in other rooms provided by the center while the festival went on in the auditorium. After the center closed at 11 or 12 one of the hotels provided a couple rooms for jamming. A fellow I went with one year was heard to remark he had been there 24 hours and Han been jamming 21 of them. When I went last it was a great, well run festival.

Thanks Mando. Wow. That does sound great. If I do go, and I'm leaning that way, I want to make a real road trip out of it. On my way back through Savannah, head west a little and stop at Randy Wood's and see what's shakin'.

If it were more affordable (for me) I’d definitely go... my family and I go to JI on family vacation every May and LOVE it there.

Yes. Jekyll Island is beautiful. The entire area is. Loved St. Simon's also. I'm likely going solo. Wife doesn't care for indoor type shows and rarely enjoys traveling at that time of year. I'm cool with that.
